Meet the Southland Team

Taylor and Zach founded Southland Pools and Screens after more than 10 years in the outdoor living and construction industries. They specialized in building patios and screen enclosures, working closely with pool builders across Texas to design and layout pools and outdoor spaces that complemented these structures. Over the years, Taylor and Zach successfully sold, managed, and constructed thousands of projects for clients statewide. As demand grew, clients began requesting additional features like outdoor kitchens, pavers, and pools, leading Taylor and Zach to create Southland Pools and Screens to meet these needs and offer complete outdoor living solutions.

Co-Owner and Managing Partner

Zach S.

Zach is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University where he majored in Chemical Engineering and was a member of the University baseball team. He started his construction career as an Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry. He focused on Process Controls, Engineering Design and Earned Value management for upstream and midstream facilities. His engineering background has allowed him to excel in developing processes and procedures for project execution and construction operations with the ultimate goal of making the construction process as seamless and streamlined as possible for all of Southland’s clients. He strives to continuously improve all operations and systems to create the best possible work environment and experience for all of Southland’s Clients. Zach is also in the process of becoming a Certified Builder Professional (CBP), approved by the Pool and Hot Tub Association (PHTA). In his spare time, Zach spends his time with family, friends, and his Yellow Labrador Lumie. He can often be found on the golf course, sporting clays course, or spending time hunting and fishing.

Co-Owner and Managing Partner

Taylor R.

Taylor is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University where he majored in Education and was a Member of the Universities Football Team. He started his construction career as an installer and contractor for large outdoor living companies where he gained hands on experience and extensive knowledge on product installs, construction processes, product details, client communications, and customer service. His education, experience, and knowledge on construction has allowed him to excel in Sales. Taylor takes pride in understanding his clients visions, educating them on all aspects of our construction process, and ultimately making their backyard dreams turn into reality. In his spare time Taylor enjoys spending his time outdoors with friends and family, fishing for trout, redfish, and triple-tail, or spending time in the woods hunting.


Project Manager and Outside Sales

Hunter V.

Hunter is a graduate of Southern Arkansas University where he majored in Sports Management and was a Member of the Universities Baseball Team. He started his construction career as an installer, foreman and eventually an assistant project manager for a commercial and residential glass company where he gained hands on experience and extensive knowledge on product installs, construction processes, and product details. Since joining the Southland team Hunter has quickly adapted and excelled in the Outdoor Living industry and is a great asset to the team helping bring all of our outdoor living projects to reality. His education, experience, and knowledge on construction has allowed him to excel in client communication, permitting process, subcontractor management, and all project management task. Hunter takes pride in understanding and completion of the project process from initial consultation, to finalized design, to procurement of materials, project scheduling, subcontractor management, and project commissioning. In his spare time Hunter enjoys spending his time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and cooking for friends and family.

Office Administrator/Project Coordinator

Kayla S.

Kayla is a graduate of University of Houston where she majored in Political Science. She is currently a graduate student, pursuing an education in Law and National Security. In her free time, Kayla enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, gardening, and serving her community. She is passionate about service-leadership and making a difference in the community. Kayla prides herself in communication and customer service. She is excited to be on the Southland team where we can help make your home a more aesthetic and enjoyable space for you and your loved ones to relax and make memories.
